In my not-so-humble, admittedly jaundiced view (at which point any reader of this entry should feel free to move on), Senator Kerry represents the Democratic version of President George W. Bush. Yup, that's what I said. Which means, for me: token gestures filled with hype, little if any meaningful change within our country (the world would breathe a sigh of relief, of course, and it's certainly due that sigh), a second failure at true health-care reform, and much more there's not much to be excited about. The man just isn't an original thinker, face it folks. There's not a single health-care reform bill that bears Kerry's name during his entire tenure as a Senator. He's a follower, not a reformer. I wish it were otherwise. So I urge all Dems who care and are undecided: watch Dean, look at him handle questions at town meetings. Then watch Kerry. A man riding a wake (not "wave" but "wake"). If Kerry wins, then fear will have beaten hope once again. And the citizenry will have shown itself as maleable as putty in the hands of Big Media. If you really want Bush-light, then drink him up with relish. We deserve what we get. This is my diary, and welcome to it.
